once upon a time, there was a little girl. she liked ballerinas, princesses, and poofy dresses with puffed up sleeves.
she grew up sneering at boys and their toys, their robots, their superheroes, and their silly shows...
that girl, after many years, eventually saw the light, is now a fan of said toys, robots, superheroes, and silly shows...
life's funny like that.

well, what to say? the fact that i actually attempted to draw them even after i swore not to? (and now i remember why i didn't at first, these guys were slagging HARD to draw! and with only so much references... gah...)
or maybe the fact that this started as a bumblebee study but eventually turned into drawing all my favorite mechs, even though i pretty much killed them from the get go?
i don't know, i'm just a hopeless fan!

starting from the bottom left hand corner is:

Wheeljack~ he's a laidback optimistic mech with the cutest "ears" i've ever seen (they light up when he talks! ) plus he's the engineer (mad scientist) of the group which means he gets to blow stuff up! how is that not cool?!

Cliffjumper~ he's tiny he's cranky, and he can pull out guns bigger than himself out of nowhere. that's gotta stand for something there
despite his tendency to point fingers and tick everybody off, he's loyal and has a good spark. just doesn't really looks before he leaps...

Bumblebee~ alright i admit it, it was only because i saw the movie that i have come to love the tiny, chubby, somewhat insecure volkswagon. never mind that my dream car already is a volkswagon, he honestly seems like the guy everybody can't help but like as the little brother of the team even though he's not very remarkable in any way and he idolizes the taller "older" mechs, never knowing that they admire him for his bravery. i find it nice that he seems the only one to connect to the humans, and i dearly love making stories revolving around him and his bonds with his "family".

Starscream~ how can i listen to that whiny voice and not love him? he's like the bad guy you can't help but love; he's a snarky, poor misunderstood scientist with an obsession with power and giving orders. he's like an oversized kid and Megatron being the harassed adult, i'm honestly suprised that Megatron hasn't executed him by now for his many attempts to dethrone him. plus he's got the most hilarious lines in the series, hands down. now if only he wasn't such a 'Con at heart... *sigh...*

Prowl~ i blame fanfiction for making me like Prowl, only because he's often portrayed as an insufferable prick much to the Twins' suffering. for an alien sentient robot, he pulls off being a cop rather well... wonder if he likes donuts?

Ratchet~ once again i blame fanfiction, at least the part where Ratchet bashes his patients with a wrench when they do stupid things. which is like all the time if you count ironhide, wheeljack, the twins...
even scary cranky doctor robots need love. after all, he's the one putting you back together again...

Ironhide~ i can't say i have a fondness for cowboys, but i suppose i can make an exception, ne? the king of cannons, with the motto "shoot now, ask questions later", he's a pretty upfront mech, fiercely loyal, the guy who'd argue with you and yet would push you out of the way of a car, take the hit, shake his head, and come back to finish the argument.
i don't know about dream boy, but you can't help but envy Chromia a little here... lucky gal

Jazz~ he is like king of cool. funny, sweet, and totally hip, he's got fight and he's got it in style. he's the leader that everybody likes, and has many admirers/pupils when it comes down to spying, pranking, or even good advice. i could go on and on about him, but i think you get the point. after bumblebee, he's my second favorite mech, followed by starscream.
i cried when he died in the recent movie, and i'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be revived in the sequel.

Blaster~ the guy turns into a friggin stereo. anybody in love with music is automatically my hero.

Sunstreaker and Sideswipe aka the Twins~ i don't know what's up with me and my fondness for crankies, but sunny in all his vain crankiness has somehow managed to attract my fondness. maybe it's all the fanfiction, but i like to believe he does have a caring spark and that he does have moments when that spark makes itself known. the fact that he's an artist also appeals to me.
sideswipe is a prankster. and i am always fond of pranksters, no matter what. he's also very close with his brother, and the two make a great, if somewhat unwilling (in sunny's part) team, whether it be kicking decepticon aft, playing jet judo, or raising hell in the Ark while looking good at the same time. they're THAT good.
